Top 5 European AI Agent Startups to Watch in 2026 as the Market Surges to $52 Billion

The global market for AI agents is expected to grow from roughly $8 billion in 2025 to ($48.3-$52 billion) by the end of 2030. This prediction has been made according BCC Research. Underlining this trend, the European AI agent market is expected to exceed $19 billion in 2026. This is because of the fact that several European companies are increasingly embedding AI into their workflows.

In Europe, we are witnessing the emergence of several AI agent builders. These AI agents operate across various sectors such as legal services, finance, and automation platforms. Below is a list of five AI agent startups based in Europe. Here, out of the five AI agent startups, three of them are based in Sweden. This makes Sweden the startup capital of Europe.

a. Legora (Sweden)
Legora is a Stockholm-based AI agent startup. It supports legal work by assisting lawyers with drafting, research, review, and complex document workflows. It is designed specifically for the legal sector, and has already been adopted by more than 400 law firms. The company was founded in 2023 by Max Junestrand and has secured approximately $266M in funding.

SANA Labs’ AI agent transforms enterprise learning by automatically indexing corporate content, identifying skill gaps, as well as recommending tailored learning paths for each employee. It helps organizations upskill their teams efficiently. The company was founded in 2016 by Anna Nordell Westling and Joel Hellermark and has raised $138M in funding. It is based in Stockholm, Sweden.

They help analyze financial records quickly, automate reporting, and assist with forecasting and reconciliation tasks. Such tasks which are traditionally burden the finance teams now becomes easy. The company is based in Copenhagen and was founded in 2022 by Jonathan Sanders. It has raised $40.8M in funding.
